Bursting into song is a daily occurance for me... at work I might coerce a patient into getting out of bed with a song or a really bad groaner of a joke. At night I can sometimes be found singing in a community theater musical production, or out dancing to a live swing band. If you can't find me by listening for the song...listen for the laughing!

I have hilarious friends and coworkers, and we love to laugh! Other than that I have really diverse interests...yoga, pilates, hockey, BBQ's, the ocean /beach, playing outside as much as possible during the warm weather soaking up the sun, as well as the activities everyone likes; movies, quiet evenings in etc.

I also have world issues that I feel strongly about, and can be very serious and driven when I need to be. However, maintaining peace and balance in my life is of the utmost importance to me...being happy is a choice. Life is way too short not to do the things we enjoy and to be thankful for all of the wonderful things we have.

Moved to Boston a half year ago from Syracuse via NYC. Life is finally settling down a bit: Learned some of the ropes at work, found an apartment, and sold my house back in Syracuse. Once I build up some vacation I want to travel to Europe, something I have wanted to do, but have never managed to find the time to do. I like to be active: I bike to work in Lexington most weekdays, and prefer to take public transportation and walk rather than drive. I get to see more that way, and I avoid the frustration of waiting for red lights and gridlock. I'd like to do some trail running once I find out where there are good trails, and some kayaking once I find a place to keep my kayak. Characteristics you've heard of, but don't expect to find in the same person. My step-daughter lives with me when she's not off to college. There is a place near Boston where you can collect great spring water and that is the only water I drink. After collecting spring water I go for a walk with the dog in the woods. In the process of self-exploration relative to my health and what I really consider fun!! I've seem to have forgotten! I may be returning back to school to earn my degree as a DR of Naturopathy. Still exploring those options. Other than, that, I'm just moving forward!!

Single mom of two; both in college and creating their own paths for themselves. I'm at a pivotal point with regard to determining how how re-member myself and what that will look like. I'm currently exploring opportunities to relocate and earn an ND (Naturopathic Doctor) in either CT or WA State. My biggest hurdle right now which is setting me back somewhat is healing from multiple injuries (4 in 4 years) and gaining some freedom from physical limitations and pain. Otherwise, I'm continuing to explore my healthy lifestyle by maintaining a mostly raw vegan diet. I guess the more intimate details come in the comfort of exploration in getting to know one another.

The ideal connection for me would be with someone who is a vegetarian, someone who's smart, sexy, health/environmentally conscious and a friend/partner with similar interests. I'm okay with our personalities being somewhat different. In this way, we can learn from one another, explore different things from one another's experiences/likes, etc.; this keeps it interesting and full of adventure. I guess the more intimate details come in the comfort of exploration in getting to know one another. What I've been up to: My life has been getting better than ever and new doors have been opening up for me in the past couple of years, due in large part to my decision to go back to school and finish my degree. I am in my final year of studying journalism at UMass Amherst and plan to use my photography and storytelling skills for the purposes of inspiring others to help animals and the environment. I've really been getting into documentary filmmaking lately.

My personality: I'm smart, thoughtful, and have a great sense of humor. Maybe you won't notice it right away since I can be quiet around new people or in a large group. My beliefs: I feel strongly about animal welfare and environmental issues, as noted above. Following a vegan lifestlye and staying true to my own beliefs is a higher priority for me than my religion. While I was raised Jewish and am still observant of some Jewish holidays and respect Jewish culture, I would consider myself to be an agnostic.

Slightly nutty, extremely honest... I'd rather be hiking or kayaking, hanging out at a playground or jumping on a trampoline than spending time in a bar or club. I'm not at all religious but Buddhist philosophy makes a lot of sense to me. I love roller derby and horror moves even though I can't stand violence. I like coffee more than I should, I can't spell without spell-check and I'm a lousy singer but that doesn't stop me from belting out 80's songs (especially hair-metal) in the car when I don't think anyone can hear me. I want to learn to hula hoop, trade in my guitar (which I can't play) for a ukulele and to speak another language. I'm really shy but I think I'm pretty fun once you get me out of my shell. I made a change to my diet relatively recently (May 2011). After a LOT of trial and error, I landed on a mostly vegan, low sugar, (nearly) gluten free diet. Although I've embraced this diet for health reasons and don't have qualms socializing with meat eaters, I'm finding it difficult to meet new people since adopting this lifestyle. So much of the Boston social scene revolves around eating out and I prefer to cook at home.

I like adventures, but not in a motorcycle-without-a-helmet kind of way.Friends have described me as kind/caring, loyal, deep, mysterious, and an "old soul." I wold add curious to that list. I think life can be interesting and people are fascinating, but you can only discover this by getting off your butt and out the door. You have to peer under rocks and around corners or it all can become a mundane blur. I moved to Boston almost 6 years ago, without knowing anyone here and having only visited the city twice. Can you tell I don't do much of anything in a traditional way? Surprisingly, I still manage to fit in with mainstream America.

I have a 9-to-5er job working with people, but ultimately I identify as an artist and storyteller. I write, read, watch movies, and sew clothes in my free time. I also like to take advantage of what the city has to offer: museums, lectures, film festivals, walks along the Charles/Harbor. I take yoga and dance classes.
