I've been in color guard for five seasons now - competitive for two and now performing in exhibition. I love driving. It gives me such freedom. I've been ballroom dancing for about three years. I've been a vegetarian for health reasons since 2002 and am now transitioning to a vegan diet. It's much easier now that I'm in my apartment, doing the grocery shopping and cooking. I am originally from Maryland, but spent many years in Southern California. Since I moved back, I don't really miss LA (well maybe sometimes :)). My favorite beach town is Ocean City, MD (and that includes California beaches) and I spend my weekends there during the summer. I have the flexibility to move to another city, but my preference at this time is to stay within a few hours of this area (maybe I can be talked into moving somewhere else :)). I have to admit I’m a night person (not all night :)), and going out to a place with good music and dancing can get me going. But, I also like a cozy evening stayin in and watchin a movie with the right person. I am a former DJ (radio and clubs) and have a wide variety of musical tastes (yes I like hip hop and country too). I am also a strict vegetarian (almost vegan) because of ethical reasons involving treating animals with kindness... and I love dogs. I have found it hard to meet other ethical vegetarians that I am interested in dating, so maybe we will find each other on here :)

Creative, smart, funny. I'm good with comebacks and able to hold my own during dinner-table conversations. I love to create and enjoy others creations. I can be found in the garage with my power tools, painting my home, taking art and/or dancing classes, reading and cooking. I never liked cooking until I became a vegetarian in my 20s. All of a sudden I loved to cook and have been playing in my kitchen ever since. I enjoy cooking for friends and family and have even surprised some who were expecting, I don't know, maybe, raw tofu and a carrot? with actual good food! I like foreign/indie movies, art museums and libraries/bookstores. I can relate most events in life to a Brady Bunch episode. (My brother calls it a talent.) Other pleasures include: the warm sun, a spring rain, hot chocolate, cold lemonade, twirly skirts, looking at the sky and listening to the ocean, among others.

In addition to trying to do what I can to help animals, I try to do the same for people. By day I am a social worker/therapist working at a school with severely emotionally disturbed adolescents. My interests are quite diverse (but I'm not much of a tv watcher) ...I enjoy quiet time at home, to playing video and board games, to going to a concert, to spending time outdoors, and travel (a trip to Africa is my favorite so far).
