I'm a creative, funny (sometimes intentionally), intellectual (pretentious) and compassionate kinda guy (but don't step on my faux blue suede shoes, don't EVER step on my faux blue suede shoes). I'm well off, but not materialistic. My politics and social values are very progressive. Up until recently I was very involved in activism (vegism/ethical eating, animal rights/welfare, democratic global governance/ment), but have slacked off, at least for now, and returned to an old passion: composing and playing music. I've also slacked off on a few decades' worth of writing and editing gigs. (Aren't I too old to be a slacker? Or perhaps just old enough.) Living with meaning and purpose is very important to me. As is living with porpoise, which is difficult in Winnipeg.

Hi. I'm basically looking to meet new friends who are happy, healthy, INTERESTING and leading edge. (I don't care where you live either) So hey, here's who I am... I'm definately a mix of male and female energies, as witnessed in my interests and/or passions. It's all about balance me figures. Anyway, I've been a vegan for 12 years, and I am totally for helping the animal kingdom. I have been a musician for all of my adult life, and I am a semi-pro songwriter...actually, I JUST sold my first song!!! I also am passionate about cooking, and keeping up on global politics. Views from a first story, east facing window. Over the course of the past year I have seen the following items discarded in the bin outside my apartment: Large stuffed tiger head propped up ever so lovingly in the BFI, Giant inflatable package of Schneiders weiners,ruby red sofa drenched in the rain, and abeautiful hanging wicker chair. All true, I love my neighborhood! Just setting the stage, now more about me: I am a serious food nerd. I love, love, love cooking and I'm very passionate about food, the environment and animal rights. I also LOVE the great outdoors-hiking, jogging, cycling, photography, wandering city streets, sunshine. The time I spend indoors involves music (always music- old,indie rock, pop, folk, some hip hop, jazz), cooking, interior design-collecting vintage furniture, refinishing vintage furniture, independent films,concerts, environmentalism, politics,art,dance.

I like travelling, and am hoping to make friends in different cities so that I may have friends to hang out with, and possibly share a meal at a local vegan(-friendly) restaurant! One of the things I love when travelling is trying out the local vegan fare. I'm usually in Winnipeg (my hometown) but I travel from time to time, touring and performing self-written solo plays (usually in Fringe Theatre Festivals) and am always up for meeting new people. I'm pretty young at heart, and a lot of people I've met think I'm 5 or 10 years younger than my actual age. I like doing things with like-minded individuals: a fan of the arts (music, theatre, dance, films), liberal and left-winged, and into compassionate living. p.s. when meeting new people, I may either turn into someone who seems quite shy and awkward, OR outgoing and whacky (but it a good way, imho) - I think it all depends on how well I jive with the person/people I'm meeeting!
