I have an international focus. I have traveled extensively in the developing world for college and church volunteering. I now work at an international non-profit and love it!

I became a vegan last year for the health benefits and out of curiosity after reading an interview with Kathy Freston. I have continued being vegan for ethical reasons including animal rights and the humanitarian aspect of the diet. (The grain we feed to cows to make our steaks could go to feeding starving people!) :) I love watching documentaries on plant-based diets, just last weekend i went to the screening of Vegucated which was great!

In the past year or so I have had a newfound appreciation and love for music and live shows.

I can dress up & behave nicely in public as easily as relax at home building a pseudo-world out of Lego. I'm quite conscious about health and how I affect other living things--I have infinite patience for children & animals and well, an "amicable" tolerance for most adults.

Hi! I'm laid back and prefer to be spontaneous in life. I can be a very good planner, but it's really not for me. I love to travel and my favorite destinations are warm and sunny (a beach is a huge bonus). I like biking and tennis and recently discovered yoga and it's amazing. I used to say that I would never step foot in a gym since I prefer to be outdoors, but now I'm addicted! I love boating and would like to take a sailing class. I don't like people that pepper their speech with swears and especially in the presence of little kids. I'm super attracted to old-fashioned, polite men (and if you're tall, dark and handsome, it's another bonus). I prefer to get to know someone over coffee at SB or lunch in a cool cafe. I don't drink and am way over the bar and club scene. I'm not one for watching tv shows, but I do like movies and some reality tv. I like to read and spend a good deal of time on the Internet. I've been told that I can be tough to read (course, this is why I'm good at cards) and I take a while to really open up. I can be somewhat shy and reserved until I'm comfortable with someone. I'd like to think of myself as smart, sweet and sensitive to other peoples wants and needs. I like to dress up for a night out, but am also comfortable with my hair in a ponytail and with minimal make-up. My music tastes are all over the board, but the only genre that I absolutely cannot stand is country. I like groups like Mazzy Starr, Placebo, Oasis, Lady Gaga, Kanye, Smashing Pumpkins, some Ozzy, love Pink Floyd and anything by Radiohead. Occasional hiphop, oldies (love 50's doowop) and lots of indie alternative. I love "discovering" new bands through Pandora.

I spend my days graphic designing for a newspaper. I've never been one to want the biggest and the best. Growing up, I was always the last to have the newest things, and I've never wanted a fancy car with all the hookups. I live in a small loft apartment with a cat. I don't have a tv, fancy entertainment center, or tons of food that I spent my money on frivolously that'll just make me end up in an early casket. I've never wanted a big house, I don't see the point in it. Nor do I see the point in a nice car. I just need something that will provide a roof over my head, and get me where I need to go. Honestly, simplicity makes me happy. I'm not big into going out and getting drunk with a crowd of people. I'd rather be at home knitting something I can use rather than buying it, reading about something I care or want to learn about, watching a documentary, cooking, or just talking to friends. I go hiking a lot, and just being out in nature and appreciating something for what it is and nothing else makes me happy.
