How do you describe yourself in this little box?? Here goes... I am 33, a lawyer, a vegan, and at a good place in my life where I'm looking for someone to share it with. I would say I fit into some weird category between nerd and hippie, a techno-hippie if you will. While I love working with electronics (I actually ENJOY computer programming) I also have a great love of animals and nature. I spend my days graphic designing for a newspaper. I've never been one to want the biggest and the best. Growing up, I was always the last to have the newest things, and I've never wanted a fancy car with all the hookups. I live in a small loft apartment with a cat. I've never wanted a big house, I don't see the point in it. Nor do I see the point in a nice car. I just need something that will provide a roof over my head, and get me where I need to go. Wow; this IS the difficult part to summarize. I am a native New Yorker; I've lived around the country for my job,(R.N. for the last 15 years, and former Vet Tech.) I had to leave my career as a Vet Tech in Manhattan due to financial constraints; as we know, most un-enlightened people don't see the value in spending money on their beloved pets...therefore the sad salaries trickle down to the Vets and Techs. I decided that becoming an R.N. would allow me financially to help fight animal causes and help abused children, as well. I have, since birth, I think had the "calling"..to be an animal rescuer and advocate. I've been a Vegan/Veg for 19 years. If these helpless creatures cannot have a voice to protect them, it's our duty to so; I feel.
