I just learned about the amazing potential of the raw food lifestyle. I've been vegetarian for over a year and half and a vegan for the past month. I plan to see what the raw food life is like and hope to discover some entirely new and different recipes in the process.
I'm a big-time gardener and I have many elements of permaculture on my property, which is located in the city limits. I love to go pick and eat whatever is growing and edible in my back and front yards, including the weeds. It connects me to our ancestors who had an amazing knowledge of plants which is now lost to most of us.
I'm big into riding my bicycle as legit transportation. I am a spiritual person and try to meditate daily. I also do yoga (asana-s) and body weight exercises. Everyone tells me that I have a calming affect on them, so I think this is good! There's a lot more to me and so you'll have to find out!

I love writing humorous stories that make a point. Writing them entertains me. . I spent most of my career in TV news,9 years of it traveling with my photographer, Jim, throughout Texas, telling stories about people and places you would never see on the news for our Live at Five show. I taught radio-tv-film broadcasting at three universities (one year each). .
I enjoy music with great lyrics, walking, hiking, turner classic movies, cinnamon rolls and organic coffee, great talks and late night breafast if the place knows how to do breakfast right. I also began observations of life cartoons (humorous) in 2002 and have drawn about 8,000

I love the water, wind, seagulls flying over of bodies of water -- like the Pacific Ocean along the Oregon coast (6,000 miles of water between the coast and Japan), Lake Michigan in Chicago, the Apostle Islands in Wisconsin. and Jekyll Island along the Georgia coast. with its vast waters and bracing, winds, the place where so many wealthy people built summer homes in the early years of the 20th Century.
I love elegance and enjoy sampling exquisite food; also enjoy a knock-out breakfast place where the pancakes, eggs, hash browns, and coffee are so fresh and great tasting, and the atmosphere promotes reading, ideas, and talking.
T like the arts because they are, to me, like a magic carpet that can trasport us to other times and places. I enjoy the arts, but have never taken to opera even though I love the music of Bach and Beethoven, Mozart and Vivaldi, not as much though as the rock n' roll songs from our high school sock hop days -- or the Motown recordings in Detroit and Sun Record recordings (Tennessee) Elvis made in his early years..
Most of all I love ideas, books, and long talks over a memorable meal.

Im currently changing a lot if things in my life. so far I've cut meat from my diet and gone full vegan. It would be nice to share that with someone. I'm in pretty good shape. I was born and raised in Cali. I'm in the Airforce, I retire in less than 5 years. I love to travel. I'm currently saving for a fairly large sail boat to live on and travel the Caribbean and South America when I retire.

I am pretty happy and enjoy life. I enjoy entertaining guests, cooking mostly from scratch, and keeping a home comfortable for a good place for relationships and peaceful rest. I love living in the woods, but I have also enjoyed living near the ocean (inCalifornia), provided that I wouldn’t have to hear the constant sound of rushing waves (can be deafening). We use to garden, until we moved to a rocky hill here in the woods. I prefer peace and quiet. I also like to be funny and adventuresome. Flea markets can be fun, but I don’t want unnecessary THINGS brought home with me. We are easily entertained by the dog and cats, rain and snow, sitting outside in the woods having a cup of coffee or about anything natural. I value communication and relating well, more than almost anything.
I’m generous and attentive to people and animals. I have four living children, ages 34, 32, 29 and 17. The three oldest are married and with babies of their own, ages 7, 6, 2 and almost one. They all live in other states. My 18 year-old-daughter, an Honor student who wants to be a Veterinarian, and I have rescued lots of animals and either found their owners or gotten them to organizations to be adopted out. We enjoy shampooing and grooming dogs AND cats and wish we could get paid for it. I also enjoy photography and would like to have my own photography business (not really wedding pictures or portraits, but art). I have designed some really nice business cards… just need to get them printed and get started. I also sew and paint, but not so much as I use to when I was married. Single parenthood is time consuming.
The older I get, the less THINGS I want, and consequently have been paring down recently. I would rather be available for people and animals, than spend time and money collecting and caring for THINGS. I have had some thought of continuing my education, since I only lack one class having a Bachelor's Degree (in Interdisciplinary Studies - Art, Music and Psychology), especially next year when my daughter starts to college, but I’m not really wanting to start a career in those areas at this time. Because my daughter and I, and really most of my family, have to eat Gluten-free, for health reasons, I would consider continuing education in the area of Human and Animal Nutrition, for purposefulness. She wants to stay close to me for helping her through college, partly for her Gluten-free food needs. Our goals are so closely related that we intend to work together when she becomes a Veterinarian. She wants a practice here in the Jonesboro area.
On the really personal side, we try to maintain having a daily Bible devotional time. We listen to K-LOVE 105.3 FM and 94.7 FM, Contemporary Christian music, exclusivesy, on the radio and online.

I have been a vegan for 30+yrs, I am an herbalist, I can go to the woods, fields, desert, beach, etc to find the herbs. I do not use the medical profession,I home birthed my kids and grands, also they are home schooled. The herbs were what took me back to the bible, and I have been reborn in this life, did not have to die for that to happen. I believe the current health fiasco is a total govt take over and encourage everyone to get healthy so you are not at the mercy of a system that has not healed anyone in a long long time. They do more harm then good and the drug resistant diseases in there facilities are on the rise and killing people, 25,000+ a year. I am looking for like minded folks to exchange information with. If you have your health, everything else will take care of itself. John McCain former presidential candidate has a bill right now to take vitamins and herbs away from us, so we need to unite against this and govt health care. I will only have two weeks on here as I do not have credit cards, never have to join this site.
