I'm at a loss for words (which rarely occurs)... ultimately of course words are illusory, as are these profiles. I'm a pretty (over-) educated and (over-) accomplished guy with (too too many) over-the-top tales to tell. Lived all over and have done things few folks ever even contemplate. Met some extraordinary people along the way ... but never anyone who lived a life I would trade for. I do dangle my prepositions on occasion. I love to travel and will frequently (and spontaneously) head somewhere outlandish ... I recognize this is a lot less fun solo. I've actually had a few careers ... currently I am playing doctor in Etown ... ie, I'm here temporarily, completing the last year of my residency ... and already contemplating my next move. I love my career and feel lucky to have found it. I actually couldn't even imagine myself doing anything else. I detest most vegetables. Adore ellipses. Been called a 'great cook' ... but candidly the bar was set pretty low! As well as kind-hearted, genuine, and honest to a fault really.

Hi there!
A little about me: I'm an optimistic gal and I enjoy being around other positive people, especially when there's a lot of laughter involved.
I work in the non-profit sector and spend much of my free time helping to network animals for rescue, helping to actually rescue them, and working towards policy change to better the way they are treated in Canada. I'm not super-extreme in my beliefs as I feel you can make more progress and gain more support with baby steps than long-jumps! Feel free to ask me about this.
I also enjoy travel, crafting, hiking, amateur rock-climbing, reading (mostly non-fiction, biography, science, sociology and random knowledge) spending time with friends and family, going to live music events, farmers markets, antiquing, riding my beach cruiser bike in the summer and hanging out with my own dogs.
In the travel arena, I've been fortunate enough to see a lot of the world, and am definitely looking to meet someone who also enjoys international adventure! Unfortunately, I had some back troubles after my past career as a stage performer in New York and abroad so my days of backpacking are sadly over. That must be why suitcases with wheels are popular among the over-25 set. ; ) And there's something to be said about a nice bed to sleep on between the days of adventure versus the questionably bed-bugged foamies of the world's hostels. Oh, and I speak French and Italian.
I like all types of music from the Horrorpops to Great Big Sea to Michael Buble to Johnny Cash. I'm not the hugest fan of rap and death metal, but to each his/her own!
Instead of my continued babbling on this page, why don't you ask me a question? I think that is likely a better way to get an idea as to who I am, since you can ask me about things that you find interesting.

Just moved to central Alberta. Plan is to stay at least a couple of years then who knows. I spend most of my time exercising, working at my rad new job!!, cooking tasty food, watching the odd movie with my lovely cats, hanging out with those i love, working on one project or another, reading as there is always textbooks to review or new knowledge to be gained or an amazing story that i must be part of, traveling when i can and riding my sweet new bike (she's a beaut!) or if its the winter xcountry skiing. Wow, this is great just found this site and thought I'd give it a try. I've been a vegetarian for about 3 years now. As of now I don't have any vegetarian friends, and I think it would be great to meet someone that I could go out and have diner with. About me; I grew up in Ontario, spent the last five years in Yellowknife, and moved to Calgary a month ago for a new job. I'm really excited to be here in Calgary. Now that I'm here I'd really like to get a chance to visit a buddhist temple. Also interested in taking a beginner yoga class but I'm currently struggling with my male ego. In my free time I love mountain biking, playing hockey, and just being at home relaxing. Music tastes? I love all music but not the mass produced crap for the masses. Still in the process of starting/building my internet-based consulting company, which eventually I'll be able to run from anywhere in the world (I work from home right now). So once I get it off the ground, I'd like to move to Panama or Costa Rica (hopefully in less than 2yrs). Constantly gets comments like: "What a GORGEOUS dog" or "That's the best looking dog I've EVER seen" (& I'm not exaggerating) :D Chronologically I'm 27, but biologically (head/heart) I often feel like I'm still in my young teens, even though my maturity-age would sometimes be late 30's, with the wisdom of a very aged/old soul (although, of course, the more I learn, the more I know the less I know). A special little e-mail just reminded me that I'm on this site... so I figured what the heck why not update this thing? I'm a wild land firefighter by summer and soon-to-be world traveling vagabond by winter. I'm pretty dedicated to animal rights, but seeing the site we're on, you probably guessed that. I graduated with a BA in Music and Economics, both subjects that fascinate me greatly. Music, a basic part of who I am; Economics a vastly misunderstood and controversial science. I think way too much about absolutely everything and so sometimes I like to balance that out with some time spent on the more primal/instinctual side of things.
