I'm a doula and PhD-bound student, currently finishing my undergrad at SOU. I live a pretty healthy lifestyle-- meditation, yoga, healthy food, biking, lots of hiking. I constantly seek knowledge and love to read. I'm comfortable in my solitude, I cherish my independence, and I enjoy close connections with my friends and family.

Vegetarianism has been a big part of my life and relationship with the world for nearly 20 years. I became vegan in September, to eliminate the cognitive dissonance I felt even when eating eggs from the ducks and chickens in my shared backyard. I used to be able to turn the other cheek when dating omnivores, but have been feeling an increased disgust with the idea of being physically close with someone whose physiology is partly composed of animal corpses (hey... you are what you eat, right?)

I'm sounding quite macabre here, and really, I have a sunny disposition, an optimistic outlook on life, and an uncanny ability to appraise most situations positively. My relationship with my food is a reflection of the interconnectivity I feel with all things, and my desire to do only good for the planet.
