I'm newly vegan, after being vegetarian on and off for over ten years. I felt like it was finally time to integrate my spiritual beliefs more fully into what I was putting into my body. So even though I intellectually knew all the reasons to be vegan, I needed the internal desire to push me into committing. My spiritual practice is a fusion of Religious Science, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Unitarian Universalism and every other religious method I've come across. I think each story provides insight on ways to touch the Divine and all are paths that lead to the Ultimate Source.

I recently moved from Washington DC to the southern coast of North Carolina. It feels like a good spot for transition (being near the ocean is so calming) but I don't expect to be here long-term, I love the city too much. I'm a writer, a blogger, a singer and wannabe guitar player. I'm learning to love being outside: gardening, hiking or soaking sun on the beach. I want to bring more play into my life and learn how to surf, salsa better, and sky-dive. I enjoy cooking and am excited to really embrace the culinary arts of vegan cuisine.
