Being a chef I'm often asked if I have a favorite ingredient. To this my response is "yes, I have favorites". I have to admit I have trouble choosing between all the magical tastes and experiences in life. How can I just pick one favorite? My favorites often evolve with the season. An ideal partner would help me in those decisions. But this section isn't about you, it's about me. In love and life, humor is my favorite ingredient. If we have chemistry we will laugh a lot, if we don't, we will laugh a little. If we don't laugh at all, we have problems.

I'm a man of principles but also of contradictions. For example, I'm a vegan beekeeper. I love my bees but unfortunately sometimes they don't love me or maybe they're just showing me tough love when they sting me. Another example is that I'm a raw vegan that loves popcorn. Not the end of the world, but it shows I'm willing to break my own rules under certain circumstances. I don't eat any old bag of kevlar and chemical coated microwaved popcorn. When I break my rules I make sure it's an epic event. Epic popcorn, you gotta try it.

I'm a surfer living in Michigan. Believe it or not you can surf on the Great Lakes. I have, it's no glassy West Coast reef break but it will do for the time being. I'd love to relocate to a place where I'm 100 miles or less from decent surf.

I'm a jack of many trades and a master of some. I've been known to fix my own car even in instances where I'm way out of my depth. Trust, curiosity and blind faith get me through. Youtube videos help as well. One day you may let me destroy... I mean repair your car.

I love telling travel stories. I've had some great adventures and would love to have more. I dive, rock climb, camp, hike, bike, bush whack (that is stumble off trail into the wilderness and return home safely by the grace of God). I believe in a higher power, guiding force, alchemy, synchronicity, unicorns and vermicious knids. There's more I could share but that's enough for now... the bees need my attention and I'm due to make some epic popcorn.
