Gloucester, massachusetts vegetarians, vegans and raw foodist events and singles dating

I live a peaceful life in a small, humble apartment in Gloucester, MA. 

I'm an emotional kind of person but have a pretty good perspective on my feelings, and a good sense of humor. And though I have intense feelings, I don't have intense ambitions - at least in the work world. Generally I find I live in a sea of A personalities, of which I am definitely not one! 

I would say one of my defining characteristics is that I am very eclectic, having wide-ranging interests. I consider myself a spiritual person in a general sense, and appreciate those who have big enough perspectives on life to consider a wide range of possibilities when it comes to defining what life is about, why we're here, etc.....and enjoy philosophical discussions from time to time. (Politically I lean to the left, but my opinions are open for discussion.) 

My biggest hobby is painting and drawing. I love it - it's like a meditation to me. If I have any aspirations, it's to pursue my art, get some of my work into shows, sell a few perhaps, and see where it all goes.

I meditate occasionially - nothing heavy-duty, just a way to center myself. I am a non-dairy vegetarian, am basically healthy and fit and prefer natural ways of healing, if possible (but am not averse to relying on traditional medicine if necessary). At this point in my life, I would want a man I would be involved with in a steady relationship to also be vegetarian. 

I've traveled some (India 4x, Switzerland, Thailand, England, Scotland, Wales, Canada, zig-zagged around and back and forth across the US, lived in San Francisco area for 15 years)...but no exotic trips in recent years - had to start buckling down to make a living! 

What else to say? Oh - I unfortunately developed an allergy to cats and dogs years ago, which was painful, since I've always had pets in my life before that. I take an antihistamine when I am around animals and that seems to do the trick. I am hoping that acupuncture I am currently undergoing can cure me of this allergy, as I would love to have a pet again some day.
