Heyworth, illinois vegetarians, vegans and raw foodist events and singles dating

I am a sociology professor, and I also founded last spring and run a 501(c)(3) domestic and farmed animal sanctuary on my property in Heyworth.  I love to cook -- it's probably my favorite way to spend a rainy or otherwise dreary Sunday afternoon.  I also greatly enjoy listening to music while I'm cooking or doing pretty much anything else (almost all genres, but especially rock, smooth jazz, classical, and New Age).  I am happiest, though, when I am outside.  Spending a summer afternoon swimming in the stream on my property with my dogs gives me a lot of joy, as does running (I've run a couple of half-marathons and am toying with the idea of training for a full marathon), biking, kayaking, and doing just about anything else that gets me outside.  I feel comfortable virtually anywhere I go, though I feel happiest in nature (especially the woods).  I am politically and socially liberal.  I am also a bit adventurous -- the most daring thing I've ever done was go skydiving.  The people who impress me the most are those who have a cause other than themselves and act on it, rather than just talking a good game.
