!I try to lead a healthy, balanced, spiritually centered life,and am grateful for all the good things life offers me. I taught kindergarten and first grade after college and loved how it gave me the gift of being able to view the world through the eyes of a child. I stopped teaching for 5 years to stay home with my son. It was the best job I ever had!Now that my son is in middle school,and has gained a measure of independence, it allows me to be more independent as well, and to focus a bit more on myself and my personal life

Separate from my son, I like to play tennis, do yoga,tend to my veggie garden,  spend time with friends, and travel and learn about other cultures. Two trips I especially loved were Kenya for the safaris, and hot air balloon ride, and the Greek Islands and Turkey because it was fascinating to learn about the Ancient Civilizations where it all took place! Also like kayaking and most outdoor activities. By contrast, and for balance, I like to visit my hometown-NYC-for theatre, museums, Knicks games, and vegan food!

I think eclectic, energetic, and passionate are probably the best adjectives to describe myself. I have a wide range of interests, most of them being either musical, artsy, outdoorsy, involving people, or activist oriented. I am vegan, which is one of the most meaningful decisions I've made. I tend to be rather intense about whatever activity or cause I'm involved in at the time. I am a Board certified music therapist, and work with children with disabilities. In whatever free time I manage to create, (which is an extremely rare occurrence these days!) I usually delve into some sort of creative project, or kick back and be silly with friends.
