If you follow an Abrahamic Religion and hold its text in a dogmatic literal view I am not the guy for you. If you are a vegetarian who wants to champion the cause against meat-eaters I am not either. The meat vs. nonmeat debate is not so black/white.
I was raised a literal interpretation Bible Christian from birth till 19 and then became a Buddhist/Taoist. I practiced martial arts very obsessively partly from enjoying it, and partly from supernatural beliefs. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and am now taking about 1 more year before deciding a career path. I am thinking of a Master's in ABA specializing in autism, a bachelor's in another science field, or going back to get a teaching certificate. I love studying science and need to improve my math though.
I am reading different books on Critical Thinking to be better at analyzing peoples’ truth claims, deconstructing arguments into premises and conclusions, and then finding observable knowledge to refute or support the claim. I recently became agnostic after I realized wanting to believe in some absolute truth was actually depressing. I feel that knoweldge should be approached from what can be observed, documented, and repeated with little bias. I do not claim that we can know what appears to be mythylogical records in early human history is all untrue though. However, I will remain a skeptic of the soul, afterlife, and supernatural abilities until it could be observed directly apart from people's confirmation bias. Lots of Eastern Herbology is legit though and I take several kinds. The one exception I hold to this mentality is brimstone style hell concepts, that is just a fuc..d up mental torture device. I feel religions were useful when our species was more childlike, a time and place before science and logic rules. But it is time as a species to put away childish things.
As far as movies and books I mostly like comedies, science fiction, and fantasy. History is always changing the more we try to uncover. Unraveling the mystery of history is better to me than any mystery, spy, or romance movie could hope to be unless it's based on history. Sometimes truth is better than fiction. History should be more important to us since it instills a type of emotional connection with those who came before and protecting history from those who distort it for their dogmatic views is important.
I also enjoy the advancements we have made, but I prefer to spend less time enjoying them than I do increasing my knowledge that can be observed, documented, and then used as a basis for thinking of new ideas and how to test them. I like going to movies, bowling, music-even some Taylor Swift-, and walking. Don’t judge me cause I like Taylor!! I dislike most rap.
I would also be loyal while with someone since logic shows strong support for it. STIs will always be around. Also, trying to get some on the side is a just plain waste of time. I have a hypothesis that enjoying sex but not being obsessed with it is the greatest way human intellect and curiosity is opened. Honestly, trying to devise ways to get it every day is a terrible waste of our intelligence that our species struggled and selected itself toward. It is safe to say that I don't plan on having a church wedding someday. I would just want a big get-together at some country club and the fun typical wedding sound, vows, and rings absent of a pastor. I like the tradition of couples getting rings after awhile. Finding someone to rely upon and provide the same support to during life that shares similar views is important I think.
I drink alcohol very infrequently since more than a few a day is bad for the brain, and it is often only when others want to. I hate beers and refuse to drink them. I need to exercise more and quit processed food for good to protect my ability to continue learning into old age.

I have been into the vegan lifestyle for over seven years now and it is something that means quite a bit to me. Being in a relationship with a woman who is in the vegan world would be ideal. The following is some information concerning myself: * I am fortunate to have the love of some pretty special people, such as my family. * I was born and raised in S. California (and yes, I still say dude). I have lived in Pasadena, Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, Alameda (central California) and San Diego. I was also in Cape May, New Jersey for about two months and Yorktown, Virginia for about five months. * I am a veteran of the United States Coast Guard (3 years, 11 months of active duty). * If A.S.L. is your primary language, please do not be shy. I have a fairly decent knowledge of A.S.L. and know a decent amount about deaf culture. * I can admit when I am wrong...(I still have my moments though). * Alleviating hunger worlwide would be a staggering triumph for humans. * I am more than cool with older movies. I may even drop a line from time to time, "You should be kissed, and often, and by someone who knows how". * The low 80's (in Farenheit) is probabaly my favorite temperature. I have felt the wrath of approx. -50 degrees F in the Bearing Sea area and approx. 120 degrees F in the Phoenix area. * I couldn't hide it if I tried, I am pretty eccentric, but this can be a good thing. * The harsh realities of life can be daunting at times to contemplate. * I consider myself someone who can be really good to talk with and I admire this quality in others. * I have never owned a cellphone. * I am definitely more of a cat person (no offense to the dogs). * I consider myself to be athletic and have tried many althletic related things in my life. One of my favorite activities in the Phoenix area is indoor rock climbing...it can be such a good energy release. * I can make people laugh. * I love to watch waves breaking on the shore. * I like Chess! * I no longer have a vehicle and I am riding a bicycle now. It is great exercise but there are definitely days when a vehicle would be nice. And a Phoenix summer is quickly approaching...ahhhh! (by the way, I am aware that a proper sentence should not begin with And). * I tend to be rather hard on myself. * I love, love, love (should I write it once more) trivia. I do tend to get a little intense while watching Jeopardy. (fantasy)...My future lady and I sitting on a couch together reading off Trivial Pursuit cards to each other...now that, is hot!!! * I don't think that I could ever make it through Forest Gump without sobbing. * I personally think that I am quite good in the kitchen. O.K., so probably my favorite meal: steamed potatoes (Red and/or Russet work well), mashed up a bit with olive oil and some sea salt. Some tofu patty (the Wildwood brand) mashed up a bit with the potatoes. Maybe some garlic seasoning. How about some red bell pepper to go with it and maybe some carrots! So filling and it tastes so good! * I very much respect the raw food diet and gave it a try for about two months once. I did not do well with it but I must say that I was not doing it properly at all. It was my fault, not the raw food diet. * I would potentially like to work with an animal rights advocacy organization and/or teach at the high school or college level. The job that I am partaking in right now is not a job that I aspire to do for much longer and hopefully things will change soon. I would like to feel as though I am making a positive impact on the planet and I know that I very much can. * I would say that my taste for music is diverse. How good is Russell Thompkins Jr.'s voice...The Stylistics doing "Break Up To Make Up" is one of my favorite songs. Frente's version of "Bizarre Love Triangle" is another one of my favorites and Michael Crawford singing "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again", just to name a few. * I definitely consider myself to be affectionate. Just simply holding each other can literally be euphoric to me. I enjoy giving physical attention perhaps more than receiving. Not to try and win too many points but I will also say that I consider myself to be rather passionate (maybe it's from watching some of those older movies). * Some things that I may find really nice in a relationship: * Being able to laugh together is important for me. * Having someone to cry with when needed, maybe someone who is holding you before a tear drops, because they know you that well. * Having someone who gives positive affirmation. * I highly admire loyalty (perhaps because I could use some work in this area at times). If you feel a strong connection, please do not let distance be the deciding factor for not communicating. You never know, maybe we can work something out? I'm an outdoorsy, generally mellow person, shy (at first) and thoughtful. In sixth grade a teacher called me pensive and as much as I disliked being labeled at the time, she hit the nail on the head. I love to listen and talk with people. Life's deep questions and the ridiculously mundane are equally facinating. If I drop an "I wonder...." we could be talking for a few hours. Hi, I would say that I am a nature lover. I care about the welfare of animals and for that matter all living things. I just bought ten acres of forest and I live in a cabin with my two Newfoundlands. I love rock and 80's new-wave music & B'way musicals. I'm a vegan who believes in animal rights. I like new foods & sometimes cooking. Even my meat eater friends love my cheesecake and cupcakes that I make for my parties which are necessary so my cats can regularly socialize.
I like traveling & have friends in San Diego so I've been there alot. La Jolla was great where I almost got to kiss the wild seals - till I saw the seal watchers suspiciously watching me.
I like movies, especially horror, sci/fi, or drama. No girly love stories, but if you're so woosy that you like them, I can suffer occasionally. If you'll try horror, I'll consider holding your hand.
I love the water and want to water-ski but have yet to figure how to stay standing. It's weird since I snow ski well. Also I can't get the breathing right to scuba-dive but really want to. Perhaps you can show me? If you're not a good teacher I can always dunk you.
I'm outgoing, dress comfortably, and have a few businesses. I'm not religious but have strong morals.

I'm a retired urban refugee living in the middle of twenty wooded acres on which this summer I'll start a conventional two-bedroom house that I'll be building myself. I'm politically to the left, progressive. I'm fairly active: generally walk several miles both morning and evening, bicycle and backpack. In the past ten years I've hiked the Cascade crest from Rainer to the Canadian border as well as many other Cascade trails. Once this house project is finished I intend to do a bit of backpacking each summer somewhere in the West starting with the John Muir Trail in the High Sierra. I have been a vegetarian of sorts for over 40 years. I am currently ovo-lactose trending toward vegan, I think. I value a vegetarian lifestyle for ethical and health reasons but consider it a matter of personal choice. I have a hard time with religious and political doctrines. I agree with the notion that an unconsidered life is a barren (if not wasted) life. However, without being driven to try to excel at sport, I also believe that staying physically active is essential to a good life. I enjoy in-line skating, kayaking, bicycling, downhill and cross - country skiing. My friends and children have made me a Badgers and Packers fan, although I feel more positive about being a fan of most of the arts, particularly music and theater. I feel ready to retire from the career I have pursued for the last 35 years and shift my focus more toward personal interests that I have not been able to attend to as much as I would have liked. I am someone who hopes some day to find someone who will want to share a close and affectionate relationship, but am not inclined to try to rush into anything.

I eat 100% raw all the time except when travelling or other special occasions where it's just not feasible. I am not vegan. I eat sashimi regularly. I would support whole heartedly someone who is vegan though. I am on here because it's just hard to find someone who understands and supports this type of diet lifestyle on regular dating sites. Just giving it a shot here. Since my diet is such a big part of my life and who I am, it would be incredibly helpful to find someone through this site.
