Torn between living in the country surrounded only by nature & animals, or trying life in the city, as I also love music/arts/theatre...
Also really into reducing waste & recycling, I buy second hand whenever possible.
I can never make my mind up about which direction to go, regarding work it was a multi-way tie between translator, biologist, stained glass artist or biomedical scientist (my current job in the NHS) amongst a few more. Probably should have become a medical illustrator, but not much call for that these days I guess. Now I am waffling on... bad trait when I am writing!
I'm not especially sporty (trying to do more, but working for the NHS and having a big garden kind of keeps me pretty active anyway) and I don't really drink alcohol..
I'm super honest (really crap at even white lies!) and hate fighting over minor issues, life is too short! Also think I'm very patient and understanding of mental health issues etc. Nobody is perfect..
My late partner always said I am a "funny mix of very soft and very hard", which might well be right, I am super sensitive, but I do argue my point if it's something important to me (ethical..) or when defending people.
I can be quite shy when I don't know people yet, - so would prefer to get to know each other a bit before meeting up, but very outgoing among my friends. I've been vegetarian for 30+ years & mostly vegan by now..

I like to think that I am an optimistic kind of person who tries to take life as it comes. Family and friends are important to me, and I try to see them whenever I can, but I am also independent and content with my own company. A little solitude can be re-energising, but there is nothing to replace that special feeling of being with someone the company of someone with whom I 'connect'.
I like to travel - and hope to do more -and I love walking. Given the choice I would probably prefer a mobile home to a smart hotel for a holiday, but then a bit of pampering now and then doesn't go amiss. I forgot to ask my friends for any 'less desirable' qualities! Someone once bravely wrote in their profile 'prone to depression', but if we were all completely open and honest before even meeting, there would probably be very few contacts!
Although I am able to enjoy my own company, and also need “alone-time”, I yearn for a life partner where both of us intentionally enhance the other’s development, and health and happiness. This isn’t going to happen entirely spontaneously, I feel, without some clear intentions and agreements on how to support each other.
I believe that making “agreements”, pleasant ones or more difficult, keeping them, and revising them weekly, is hugely important in close relationships. I once made an agreement not to be late, and for each minute late I would give my partner 30 minutes of massage. She got some extra massage and I soon started arriving early.
I’ love the peace and tranquility of where I live. I am just starting to grow my own vegetables and transform the garden, which is 2 acres, half of it woodland, complete with stream. waterfalls and 4 pools.
I've done courses in yoga, meditation (mostly Buddhist) shiatsu, reflexology, Touch for Health and massage and have a library on many other forms of healing including radionics and other forms of “energy medicine”.
I am passionate about organic food, and have a reasonably high raw food diet. However, I am not “fanatical” and enjoy Indian meals, cooked foods and occasional fish.

In no particular order, I am keen on: music, art, wit, kindness, laughing, meditation, animals, craftsmanship, cycling, nature, travelling, sunshine, photography, Yoga & Eastern philosophy, veggie food, swimming, saunas, Radio 3 & 4 (won't mean much outside the UK), massage, scuba-diving, hammocks and the usual great stuff! 
Though that's all true, a list of interests is obviously limited in what it can express because the most valuable perceptions require human contact.
I'm considered to look very young for my age - most people say late 30s to early 40s which I obviously like! 
Must be all that Yoga, cycling and veggie food. Perhaps also making sure I always love my work whether or not it pays well, being my own boss and not having had kids 
I suspect that my quite deep interests in the Eastern philosophies that revolve around Buddhism/Taoism and Yoga mean that my potential partner will probably have some sort of similar or complementary interest herself. But to demonstrate that I also have a satisfyingly shallow side, I am usually only physically attracted to women who are slim and/or petite in body shape; please don't judge me for this it just happens to be how I am wired.

After spending twelve years as a government attorney in the states, I recently pulled up roots and moved to London to return to my first love, writing. I'm finishing an MA program now, and I'm in the middle of writing a novel and a book of short stories.

My personality type is INFP-T and I regularly enjoy a great deal of solitide and isolation in my daily life. Although I may not outwardly appear to others as a stereotypical introvert, I have always been remarkably empathic and generally require lengthy intervals of time to restore my energy between social situations. I spent quite a long period of time on my own whilst self-healing and rehabbing from a cycling accident, which has considerably amplified this characteristic.
With that having been said, lockdowns have recently led to some interesting thought patterns & internal/philosohphical conflicts...
Far more interested in daily practicality than travel, as I have been travelling and moving about quite often over the past 7 years or so (though not necessarily in accordance with my own desires) and prefer to set down some roots––both literally and figuratively. I dislike holidays and prefer to create an atmosphere of sanctuary in which to retreat within my own home.
