There are a lot of ways to have a revolution. Being yourself is the single most audacious act an individual can stage. 

Activism has been a constant activity. I was involved politically for over 10 years, once running the local Democratic Party, then running for office, and now working for a non-profit while I chart my next course for this life. I'm also a writer, and I am aiming to create change through words that I once did via politics.

Outside of work, I try to live a full, satisfying life that pays homage to my activist spirit but doesn’t compromise my self-satisfying integrity. Some fight with a sword, but the pen is my weapon of choice. As a writer, I ink monthly articles and columns for Naked City magazine. I discuss lifestyle, culture, community, and sexuality. I will also soon be starting my own blog and getting serious about writing a book. I am constantly seeking freelance writing jobs as well. I also am a programmer for the Tallgrass Film Festival, indulging my craving for stubborn independence by screening hundreds of indie movies annually. I help out with the festival as much as I can, too.

I try to remain as optimistic about life as possibly by always doing things I enjoy. Great joy is gleaned by watching indie movies, going to art shows, experiencing live music, and eating at fabulous vegan or ethnic restaurants. I heart coffee and have a divine love for spirits, especially mojitos! I aim to travel the world, particularly to large cities. I love nothing more than being an urban wanderer.

I'm a 54 year old, single, professional. I am overeducated - a PhD in Psychology and an OD in Optometry. I came to Wichita last year as the assoc dean for health prof. I like the area but, as an ex-New Yorker, I feel a bit like a fish out of water. I was born in NYC and have lived in Boston, St. Louis, CT and many other places. Very good day to ya! I'm a vegetarian Buddhist. But, I don't belong to PETA, don't picket KFC, and don't smoke the reefer. I tend to think of myself as a relaxed vegetarian Buddhist. :) I'm currently a student at KU. I have three children but two are grown and out of the house. My youngest daughter is 12 and we do everything together. I love to write and most often I write slam and comedic poetry. I perform on open mic nights with my fellow slammers. It is most awesome. I also love to dance, drink peppermint tea, and am watching ER on DVD. I also love to cycle. I do yoga and step aerobics at least five days a week but I still wouldn't consider myself athletic. People desrcribe me a funny, young, attractive, and intelligent. I also floss. :)

Seeking: I am definately looking for a fellow extrovert. I tend to intimidate shy people.
