My description:
I love to hike, and am a published writer. I am currently looking for local veg*ans to connect with. :) I would love to connect just for fun and/or possibly for something more. Family is very important to me so it must be to you as well if you're looking for something more than just a casual connection. I don't go out much even though I am actually very social - I spend a lot of my free time writing and being with my family. So I'm looking for someone that is interested in joining me in that life. I can be intense in my emotions and approach to life - an intensity that is appealing to my friends but hard to navigate in a relationship. So, if you too are intense, it probably won't work out. I checked agnostic which is true enough but I am also fairly spiritual and try to incorporate a lot of meditation and spiritual thinking into my life. I have studied multiple faiths and was an interfaith deacon in college; and "socially engaged buddhism" resonates with me. But I do not consider myself loyal to any one faith or practice. Despite being an incorrigible optimist (and just plain incorrigible *grin*), I have very little tolerance for wilful ignorance and outright hate.
Seeking:
If you love The Daily Show, detest ignorance that doesn't try to cure itself, and have an active sense of humor, we just might get along. I'm also a bit of a geek so beware. :) You don't _need_ to be a Star Trek fan - but being able to reference the Prime Directive would definitely make me smile. But I'll settle for Monty Python or the Blues Brothers. And I LOVE creative types. Define that however. Bonus pts for being into open source software, etc... I love folks who think for themselves and aren't afraid to speak their mind. And I really need to connect with people who know what's going on in the world. No smokers. Sorry. I have my reasons.
