My description:

I’m a somewhat shy, but friendly guy with a relaxed personality.  I am outdoors as much as possible.  Although I retired from my old day job (government finance), I am hard working at the things I now have time for.  I make maple syrup in the springtime, wine, and do construction work (carpentry, timber framing, masonry to name a few, but I will DIY just about anything).  I like working with my hands, but also use my head.  I am dependable and keep my word. I’ve been a part time musician, and I still play when I have the chance. I'm not into TV, but I like old movies and PBS. I could spend all day in most museums. I don't get out to many movies because I hate to go alone.  I follow environmental and health issues, practice yoga daily, and am interested in many science topics and space exploration.

My vegetarian lifestyle (lacto/ovo vegetarian as it was known then) began in the very late 1970s as a remedy for an autoimmune disorder.  In the early 1980s my new health practitioner advised me to also eliminate most dairy (except yogurt), sugar, and wheat products from my diet, which I did for about five years.  I gradually was able to expand it to include some wheat products and seafood, but I still avoid most dairy and refined sugar products (with the exception of my maple syrup). The results over the years have been very good.  Straying too far from these limits can trigger the symptoms I’ve worked hard to keep under control.

My listing here is unpaid, and has been for an embarrassingly long time.  But I have hung in there. I can respond to your emails (and I have also been able to reply to winks-not sure why?) but I cannot initiate new emails, only winks.  But I do check the site regularly and am notified of matches/winks/messages by VeggieDate.

Seeking:

You would be a compassionate, understanding and patient woman, willing to share your time with someone, but still have a level of independence and individual pursuits.  A relaxed attitude and willingness to find joy, humor and happiness in the everyday would be a nice combination.
