My description:
I’ve been an ethical vegan since 1989, vegetarian for a few years before that. Living a vegan lifestyle means as much to me as ever, essential to combat environmental harm and animal cruelty. It's important to me to live by causing as little harm as possible. I’m from a rural area, grew up with farm animals and have a love and respect for wildlife, passionate about the conservation of the natural environment. We use a remote camera to get great wildlife footage, especially of badgers. I enjoy cooking a variety of healthy cruelty-free recipes. I’m quite creative doing a bit of drawing, painting, needlework and crafts, liking a challenge to make unique things. I have an autoimmune joint condition that restricts my mobility, but I still love getting out and about with the help of a wheelchair and my carer son. I enjoy trips to the theatre, museums, galleries, parks, the seaside, nature reserves, watching films and quality TV, especially science fiction, such as Star Trek. I like reading: Kurt Vonnegut, sociology, cultural history, philosophy, science, researching and writing local history.
Seeking:
I’m really just looking for friends, I don’t know many other vegans and would love to meet more. It would be nice not to feel like we’re such misfits, on our own alone in a meat-orientated world. Any companions to chat to, meet up for activities or get involved in campaigns with, would be great and very welcome.
