My description:
Me in a nutshell: Not all those who wander are lost.
I am looking for deep connection, community, a dream that wants to be lived, a vision to strive for.
I do love to wander – that is traveling with intention, getting to know the culture and people, not just ticking boxes on a travel list. I have been living abroad in several countries over 15 years (Australia, Singapore, Philippines, Switzerland, Belgium, Ecuador, Mexico). My passion for nature and environmental issues made me change my career from a lab working scientist to project manager in a nature conservation organisation (unfortunately my office was not in nature), and then independently looking into projects involving permaculture, agroforestry, community food forests.
One of my dreams is to build a tiny house and/or an Earthship together with many like-minded people, ideally from mostly recycled and reclaimed materials, and having some land for growing food & materials to live from but also to give back to nature.
Other things I love & enjoy:
- living sustainably in whatever context I am living in
- experimenting with cooking, baking & food preservation
- gardening & permaculture projects
- roaming in nature, foraging
- building and creating things with my hands (upcycling, DIY projects)
- singing and making music together
- exercising, esp. calisthenics, rock climbing. cycling, hiking, swimming, Scuba diving, all kind of water sports
- yoga, breathwork, ice baths
I would consider myself a romantic idealist, sometimes trapped in my scientific thinking with a hang towards perfectionism, definitely with a good sense of realism and humour, which I think, is absolutely necessary in this world to stay sane.
Seeking:
Genuine, warm, caring, humorous person, with whom I can talk about everything but also be ok not talking. I look for someone who is spontaneous and adventurous but not disappointed when I am in for some quiet time at home to relax. I hope this person would share some of my passions with me, is at least open to living vegan, loves outdoors and being active. Should be hands-on and down-to-earth while dreaming big.
