I'm a talent agent. I buy and sell bands for weddings, private parties, and nightclubs. Twenty years and thousands of shows and events: from major label artists to local and cover bands, from quiet & sedate to wild & crazy concerts, and from SF dive bars to the Ritz-Carlton. I do it because I love bringing people and music together, and I enjoy backstage planning. I do it for the power of live performance and the rock & roll, not the sex & drugs. And I'm proud of my contribution to the arts.
Update: it's 2023. While taking a pandemic-related break from concert booking, I work for the nation's largest liquor distributor (Patron, Jameson, etc.) and at a busy restaurant. Though I work with alcohol, I'm compatible with those who drink as well as those who don't.
No gun-p*rn-action figure-superhero movie-video game collections. No sports team obsessions, though I'll go to the occasional game if you want. Yes to movies, concerts, interesting restaurants, architecture|design, SF history, skiing, vintage|record|book stores, ebay, SNL, DIY projects, highbrow|lowbrow, the Sunday paper, and more. One of my cars is a German '74-- I like '60s and '70s cars & design. I can drive a stick and can often fix things.
I have three affectionate indoor cats that I rescued as kittens. Having three is the same as having two. I like most dogs as well. Besides the cats, I live alone.
I'm loyal, trustworthy, and dependable. I'm both straightforward and imaginative. And I'm resilient, in my personal life (apartment fire) as well as my professional life-- what I've been through as an agent would have made for a good reality TV show. Difficult venue owners, performers, and clients... though I'm good at working with different kinds of people, and when faced with a problem I can be stubborn about finding a solution.
Though I turned 57 in late 2023, those who guess are often off by five or ten years. Maybe it's a combination of my appearance as well as how I express and carry myself, as I'm energetic-informal-sometimes young at heart (I'm not coasting or slowing down with an eye on retirement). I'd wanted to have children some way if possible (biological? donor? adoption?) so I adjusted to appear in like-minded peoples' search results. Though at this point I'm also open to meeting people who aren't having kids.
I value good conversation. I can be inquisitive and observant. If I write, I will have read your profile. If we meet, I will want to listen to you. I want to hear your ideas, thoughts, opinions.... And I want you to have some of these to share. Even if they differ sometimes from mine.
