I'm a radically nonanthropocentric vegan law school dropout. (I found that I really could not abide by thinking about trivial matters of legality when I disagreed with most every law on the books and preferred to think on the level of "right" versus "wrong.") I recently ended a relationship with a vegan. He was the first vegan/vegetarian I'd ever dated. After spending about two years together, I became somewhat insulated from meat eaters and began to take the vegan lifestyle for granted. I'm realizing now how difficult it can be for me to date non-veggie people.
At any rate, I am determined to maintain a healthy way of life and would prefer to spend it with someone who shares my values. I enjoy the simple pleasures in life: refried beans, sunshine, a smile from a stranger, a hug from a lover or friend, the unpredictable affections of a cat. It may sound hokey to some, but I also hold a deep sense of appreciation for living in a country that enables and encourages self-determination.
