Some random things about me: 1) I love being sarcastic and when someone takes me serious, playing along with it. 2) When doing laundry, soon as it comes out the drier, I bury my face in it while it's all warm. 3) Sometimes I just open the fridge and stare in it for a while, even if I'm not going to eat anything. 4) People-watching is a fantastic hobby, if not a sport. 5) When I open a cup of yogurt, don't know why but I am compelled to lick the top. 6) My hips don’t lie. 7) I think it's a physical impossibility to just eat one single potato chip and walk away. 8) I find it hilarious when I see people sneeze in their car, but can't hear it because their windows are closed. 10) Procrastination is an intricate art in which I have skillfully mastered. 11) I skipped number 9. 12) I think it's more comfortable to wear my socks inside out. Horror movies aren't my thing, but do like Halloween,and as of recent I have been thinking about getting a certification in ghost hunting. Wouldn't it be really cool to be at a party,"accidentally" drop my Ghost Hunter License and while picking it up causally say,"Oh geez! It would have been awful to lose my ghost hunting license!" I'm not always plotting far fetched schemes. :) I genuinely enjoy learning about art, culture and music. I depend on my friends to introduce me to new artists. I am so lucky that they have great taste. I moved to DC about two years ago from the wonderful city of Chicago. DC is still an adventure for me, and I enjoy exploring my surroundings. There's something about running past the monuments that inspires me. It reminds me that there's more to life then the day to day stuff that is easy to get lost in. I get the same feeling of inspiration when I stand next to the ocean. It has to do with feeling small, and that just helps me keep things in perspective.

I am a dancer turned lawyer, and moved to DC in August from the Bay Area to realize my dream of becoming an environmental and animal protection attorney. I currently work at an environmental law firm where I get to wear jeans every day and bring my dog to work, so aside from having to read stacks of toxicity reports about hexavelene chromium and triglycerone (I started a few weeks ago so yes I made those up), I am pretty lucky. That said, about once a week I seriously consider leaving it all, buying a big piece of land in South America and spending my days chopping wood, rescuing animals, growing strawberries, and doing other things that involve not sitting at a computer screen all day. Someday... I consider myself to be an intellectual, an artist (I still dance and am taking up guitar), an adventurer, a realistic idealist or perhaps an idealistic realist, a California girl with a New York style, an activist. I love languages, growing veggies, running, dogs with big heads, being outdoors, and eating/cooking yummy vegan food!

I'm pretty down-to-earth, work on a wildlife conservation magazine and get to hang out with biologists in some beautiful areas for a few weeks a year (the perfect amount of time because I love cities, too!) and then go back and write about it. I love cats and dogs (I volunteer with the local animal shelter) and I try to walk on the planet with a light footprint (bike to work, have been vegetarian for 20+ years, carry a canvas bag to the grocery store and use power strips ;-). I admit I'm a bit of an extremist..I like to experience life to its fullest. So yes thats mean I have danced with both God and Satan many times. My heart, intellect and soul love "Righteous" living.
