I'm a vegetarian for both ethical and health reasons. I have a mixed-breed dog I adopted from a shelter. I live 90 miles up the Hudson River from New York City. I'm semi-retired after working for many years as a radio and television newswriter-editor-producer. I'm now writing freelance newsletter articles and volunteering at a shelter for farm animals. I enjoy playing with my dog, hiking, canoeing, swimming, nature-watching, reading, some movies, classical music, jazz, the blues, some folk music, NPR, lakes, rivers, oceans, mountains and valleys. I'm a liberal who opposed the invasion and occupation of Iraq. I'm thinking about relocating, perhaps to the west coast of Florida (although I'm open to other possibilities).
