Manhattan but would like to move, new_york vegetarians, vegans and raw foodist events and singles dating

I just finished my PhD in nutrition in NYC last year. I was a vegetarian (no meat/fish/poultry) for 30 years, but a vegan for the last 3. I love to cook yummy veggie meals and give dinner parties. Most of my friends are NOT vegetarians so I cook these veggie feasts that leave them stuffed and also aware of the possibilities and variety. I'm also a fitness instructor and health writer. I'm very active, love to hike, ride bikes, rollerblade, play tennis, play softball or throw a football or baseball in the park. I play bridge with a group fairly freqently. I love concerts-mostly blues/ hard rock--classical and opera occasionally. Love: Joe Bonnamassa, Foo Fighters!, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Moby, Wolfmother, OK Go, Snow Patrol, Coldplay, Oasis, Seal, old Elton John, Jamiroquai... I grew up in Arizona and Texas but have lived in London and NYC for past 25 years. I tend to be attracted to very clean-cut, athletic, educated guys who are traditional, but have a little bit of a health-conscious and compassionate side that draws them to animal and ecological issues. To me, caring about animals is more important than a religion. Currently living in NYC but open to living somewhere else-though I live across from Central Park, am a little sick of concrete and no parking space to call my own! I had a 20 year old cat who died in 2010. Since then I've become involved in cat-rescue, both with fostering and volunteering with a group who saved over 700 cats from NYCs death row last year. I give lectures at Petco to our fosters and adopters on cat-care--nutrition, health etc. I'm also dabbling a bit in the political side of animal welfare--trying to help with changing laws that benefit homeless animals, especially. (There's a lot that needs to be changed out there.) I love dogs but have never had one, although would like to in the future.
