West Cummington, massachusetts vegetarians, vegans and raw foodist events and singles dating

I have just relocated from Florida (where I lived for 25 years) to beautiful Western Massachusetts. Have been divorced for 2.5 years following a 30 year marriage. My 4 fabulous kids are grown and it's time to start a new life. I am owned by 3 amazing (but very feisty)Golden Retrievers;). I have been a vegetarian for about 10 years (and had a vegan stint for a few years as well). My love for animals and sense of social justice for all living beings makes vegetarianism a comfortable fit for me. Now that I am ready to search for a new relationship, I realize that I could never date or live with a man who would want meat/poulty/fish in the home. I feel so strongly that being a vegetarian makes for a kinder soul. 
My children are so important to me and I love when they visit. 3 sons and a daughter; how lucky I am.In my past life I was a critical care Respiratory Therapist. Liberal describes me politically and socially. My friends find me very funny, but I can be very serious about things that fire up the passions in me. Love Seinfeld re-runs; laughter is so important. I can cry easily at commercials as well. I am not religious, however my Jewishness is an important part of me. Israel is very dear to my heart. Love to relax at home (just bought a home built in 1868 and I'm loving the history), take long walks, play with my dogs, hang out with family or friends. I'm new here, so just starting to make friends. Enjoy reading newspapers (online) and historical fiction as well as any history books. I used to paint (oils, pastels), but an illness 6 years ago forced me to stop. I am now starting  to get back into it; enjoy writing as well. The natural beauty of this area is so inspiring. Looking for friendship leading to a relationship. I'm a firm believer that we are meant to be in relationships, not alone. Looking forward to meeting you!
