Hi! I am a single dad who is very active in my son's life.  I am a hard worker in a stable job and own a house in the country where I love to work in my yard.  Having taken the time I needed to get centered and back on my feet after a rough divorce, I am now at a point in my life where I am ready for a relationship.

My friends describe me as a loyal and dependable friend.  I would say that I may be shy at first, but I will quickly warm up to you if there is a connection.  Humor is really important to me; I have a dry, at times irreverent, sense of humor.  I was science teacher and still like to be a little bit of a performer lol., but I still know when to be serious.  I dabble a little in art and really enjoy most kinds of music (guilty secret: I sing in my car and in the shower, lol).   One of my favorite things is good company and a Guinness on the deck by the water at one of my favorite restaurants on the south coast...sunset is a plus!  A bit of a romantic, I am the kind of guy who will hold the door open for you.

My schedule can be really hectic, but I will definitely make time for someone special!

I like to keep active by taking long walks, jogging a bit and using weights.  But I also like 'slower pursuits' like cooking and the occasional movie night.  I also like dining out, going to museums or plays.

I have been on other sites, but I have been disheartened by the great number of women who are actually put off by my being a vegetarian (I have been for 25 years).  Hopefully this site will be different!
