My description:
I'm a casual but adventurous person with a real zest for life. As a registered nurse, I'm able to fulfill my love of helping people heal, but know prevention is the better way.
My favorite activities are hiking, walking, singing, going to concerts, reading, socializing, and enjoying friends. Great conversation means a lot to me; I really enjoy learning new things and concepts, and like having a person who feels the same way. One of my recent favorite reads was "The Life You Can Save" by Peter Singer.
Arboretums, gardens, fountains, and the ocean have a special place in my heart. I work toward a green thumb, and love to see life grow!
I grew up in Berkeley, California and Portland Oregon, traveled and lived all around the world, including eight years in Hawaii, time in Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, North Africa, Greece, the Middle East, and Europe; enjoyed different cultures, even climbed up Mt. Everest with a friend. I love taking walks with my small dogs, and getting to the beach whenever possible. I do best when I am warm. I believe in learning about, living and promoting sustainability for the earth and its creatures. Being vegan is important to me for health, protecting animals and biodiversity, the climate, and our earth.
I have three educated sons, all married to accomplished women, with seven grandchildren I love to visit in Maryland near DC, Pennsylvania and Colorado.
I like to let people be who they are, and I like it when people let me be me. But of course, I would be most comfortable with someone who has a number of likes in common.

Someone who loves to cook, enjoys Asian and Indian food, and is family-oriented. Someone who cares for themself physically, mentally and spiritually, enjoys good conversation, is educated, politically liberal/progressive, and open-minded. Someone with humor, who enjoys small dogs, is dedicated to a vegan lifestyle and promoting sustainability, is well traveled, easy going and laid back. Loving the sea is a definite plus.
