Hmmm...trying to think of a good opening line here...It was the best of times. It was the worst...eh, forget it. I live in an apartment which I share with 2 cats and, although I enjoy their company, a little human companionship would be nice. I have a 9-to-5 desk job which pays the bills. I'm what is commonly referred to as a "professional" though I don't like that term. I always thought that was an adjective rather than a noun.
But I digress....I've been told (and who am I to argue) that I'm kind, easy going and have a great sense of humor. I love to cook and watch classic movies and listen to music. Other things I enjoy are drawing/sketching, hiking, playing the piano, and reading.
Random things I like are: silent movies, strong black coffee, Beethoven, Curb Your Enthusiasm, baseball, math, Stephen Colbert, The Kinks, Bjork, Indian food.
Random things I don't like: tailgaters, cashiers who don't say "hello", narrow-minded people, talk radio (except for NPR!), tattoos, people who say I have a lot of willpower just because I'm vegan (if that were true, why can't I stop eating this entire bag of potato chips?).
I'm looking for someone to share everyday experiences with. If something funny happens or if I read something interesting, I want to be excited to share it with you. I recently went on a solo vacation to Maine and while it was a great vacation, there were times where I wished I could have shared the experience of a magnificent view overlooking the bay or the startling lack of sound from atop a mountain. I'm hoping to find someone who would go camping, or just go for a weekend drive with no particular destination. Or staying in doing the crossword suits me just fine, too. A sense of humor is a must and you can't be afraid of being a little silly sometimes.
