My description:

I put plenty of energy into animal advocacy. I enjoy organizing and attending vegan outreach and peaceful animal rights events with fellow vegans throughout the area. I like volunteering at Animal Place Rescue Ranch. I'm involved with a group supporting the more plant-based restaurants in town and encouraging other restaurants to follow. One person holding a protest sign is seen as a crazy person, but get together with a group of like-minded individuals, and you're suddenly a social movement. It's cool that way. I plan to adopt some rescued battery-cage layer hens from Animal Place next summer (I won't eat their eggs, I will feed them to the hens for protein - yes, it's weird). I'm hoping my cat will be chill with the chickens. I already have their names picked out in honor of my favorite vegan rockers - Chrissie, Joan, Fiona, etc. Maybe I'll name two Morrisey and Prince, if they won't mind. I enjoy cooking up new vegan dishes at home and would love to prepare and share them with you.  I enjoy hanging out with my omnivore friends and family, but I do want my partner to be vegan. If we could check two boxes for religion, I would have selected Jewish and atheist. I was raised Jewish, but I'm secular/atheist. Outside of lighting the Hanukkah candles and making vegan potato latkes with my kids, I don't practice my religious customs much. Nature is the temple I worship, I guess, and I'd much rather spend my Sundays hiking, biking, paddling or birdwatching. Living in Northern CA continues to be an amazing adventure for this Chicago area transplant, for sure. I hope to stay here permanently but I could be enticed to possibly relocate in 7 years if you can wait that long. I'm far left politically. I gave Bernie $50 on the day he announced his candidacy. Love the Cubs, too. After 108 years without a World Series win, we finally won it all. Other random likes: poker, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Talking Heads, Daily Show, red wine, dark chocolate, playing Jimmy Page guitar riffs poorly, snorkeling in Maui. That last one is so cliché, I might as well add holding hands, rainbows, walking on the beach and kissing under the stars, which are all great things.  I'm a slender guy, only like 160lb wet, and in decent shape for my age. Shit, I guess I fit the vegan stereotype thing.

Seeking:

You're smart, curious, funny, liberal, nurturing and enjoy the outdoors. You believe animals are not ours to eat or wear. A fun weekend together might include a hike or a paddle, followed by some delicious vegan grub and a glass of red. If the weather's uncooperative, we'll explore the great indoors with a movie, concert or even a nerdy board game. If there's an animal advocacy demostration/protest nearby, perhaps we'll create some signs together and peacefully speak up for the voiceless with our fellow activist friends.
