I live on a Gulf island where I have enjoyed tne natural beauty and friendly artistic community for over forty years. I am a retired highscool teacher who has traveled a lot in the past (including by sailboat), a skilled craftsman (woodworker) and for many years was aslo an avid gardener. Retired now, I have recently down-sized and no longer have a big property to look after. I am enjoying the extra time for reading, and some meditation as part of my simple spiritual practise. I've had an adventurous life, but like to live in the here and now and would enjoy the company of a like-minded individual. I'm close to my adult children who visit from time to time, and enjoy my grandchildren. By some standards I have led an alternative lifestyle, actively supportive of the environmental and peace movements. I continue to strive to remain aware of the world around me, and enjoy an uncomplicated, conscientious lifestyle. I am comfortable in a quiet, peaceful environment but also enjoy good conversation and company.
