It is more usual to find Travelling Tim behind the camera than in front of it, as I'm currently busy as a travel photographer, roaming the world and temporarily without a base. I've made many major journeys over the years, and in between have done a variety of volunteer work. At other times I'm a web designer and map maker, reasonable cook, gardener, and well-practised in restoring abandoned houses. I love to learn new things. I enjoy crafts, canals, conversation, BBC Radio 4 Extra, alternative technology, reading, and films with more script and plot than special-effects. Classical, world, trance, and other types of music keep me happy.
I'm a big fan of Indian travel, Indian and wholefood cookery. I care deeply about the world and its wild places; dislike religious dogma and dogs, consumerism, sport. I'm an early riser, rather than a go-to-bed-late person. I believe life is for living, not commuting; and that money plays a very minor role in how I live my life. I make no pretence of being anything that I am not, and indeed value truth and veracity above all else. I've had a variety of occupations over the years - first training in marine electronics, moving on to satellite communications in the Antarctic, then self-taught computer design for the video conferencing industry. In 1989 I was made redundant and had a major change of life-path: quite a long period of world travel which taught me huge amounts about myself and got me questioning pretty much everything I'd previously held on to.
In 1993 I moved to the Republic of Ireland, bought an old abandoned farm house, and spent the next 12 years doing it up, and learning all about gardening, roofing, electrics, plumbing, welding, basket making, wood work, building, website-designing, map-making, jam, chutney, wine and bread making, plus the most important skill of all: how to be very happy with only small amounts of money. I had 2 large homemade glass and steel greenhouses, lots of vegetables, and a big herb garden too. I really enjoy everything about 'Self Sufficiency', or 'Homesteading' as our US cousins call it, and hope to return to that lifestyle one day. My profile photo is from 2012, the other 2009.

I am a working artist from Pennsylvania currently working in Berlin Germany but I will be going back to the USA this summer to work for a bit. I was an art proffesor in Pennsylvania with a masters in fine art and a certificate in printmaking. My work has a focus in many art forms but history and philosophy are my main influences. I have been vegan since 1999 and love it, it changed my life & made me feel more healthy physically and spiritually. Politically I have quite a left backround in social-anarchism & socialism. I am very fond of history & it plays a huge part in my work & history itself is part of my family backround (my parents are historical and cultural scholars with a focus on Christian History in America and Latino/a theology). In my spare time I watch many films, I am really fond of stuff such as Orson Wells, Samuel Fuller, Fritz Lang, just to name a few, classic cinema as well and I have a strong history in in history and aestetics of cinema as well. I enjoy walking around the city or in nature, or riding bikes. I am fond of all sorts of music but find myself listening to prog rock, kraut rock, peace punk, free-jazz, avant garde, experimental, electro & classical music most of the time. I am very open minded person and have traveled and experiences many different cultures around the world but I always would like to see more of it and even live in new places. I believe very strongly in the concept of karma. I am seeking someone who shares the same overall values, and moral and spiritual outlook that I do. Ethical vegetarianism/veganism is a must. I would describe myself as moderate in a political sense, although I'm not generally a politically-oriented individual overall. Suffice to say that in some respects, I'm conservative, and in others, I'm more liberal-minded. All of the aforementioned spiritual belief systems and practices have helped to shape my own personal spiritual belief system and practice at this point in my life.
I am a vegan for moral, spiritual, ethical, and health reasons and I am seeking the same. As far as musical tastes and preferences go, I am generally into sounds that connect and strike a deep visceral chord within me. For the most part, non-mainstream, indie-type music tends to draw me in much more so than sterile, commercialized, washed out pop. Often, it depends on the individual song and the particular mood that I'm in at the time. Oftentimes, I find myself in the mood for something soft, relaxing, and soothing. On other (more rare) occasions, I find myself tempted to listen to something more extreme, intense, and hardcore. The musical genres that I listen to, on occasion, include shoegaze, indie, alternative, classical, instrumental bluegrass, fast virtuosic flamenco, experimental, old school industrial, and old school straight-edge punk and hardcore, among some other interesting genres.
As far as movies, film, and video go, I tend to prefer documentaries, independent film, instructional video, reality-based personal home videos courtesy of YouTube, and online educational lectures and video as opposed to television sitcoms, commercial Hollywood-type films, and mainstream media news outlets and programming.
Some additional information about me: I am also what is known as an intactivist. I believe that routine neonatal infant male circumcision is a crime against nature and humanity. Except in the most extreme medical circumstances, male circumcision, in general, whether conducted in infancy or at a later stage in life, is an unnecessary and barbaric practice of sexual mutilation that can have a permanent, largely irreversible negative effect on an individual's natural sexual functioning throughout his life. This can have a very negative, detrimental effect on the physical aspects of the individual's future relationships which, in turn, can have major negative spillover effects on other important, non-physical aspects of those relationships.

I always find writing about myself to be kind of strange but here it goes! I hope to get connected with people with the same love for animals, nature, and vegan food. I have four dogs, all rescues. Zeus is a pitbull who was given to me because his previous guardian no longer had enough time for time. Ava, also a pitbul, was a baitdog who was found wondering the streets in South Carolina with both sides of her face torn off. Banjo is an American Bulldog who was beaten and kicked so hard it broke his hip. Nica was abondoned to the streets in Granada Nicaragua and I brought her home last time I was there. Even though they have been through a lot in their lives, they are all very sweet.

Hello! I'm a free spirit who loves new adventures and is passionate about the energy that clean, organic food gives us. I have adopted a conglomerate of nutrition philosophies and sort of took a grain of salt from each one - I'm not raw, not paleo, not vegitarian - but I'd say a mixture of the three. I don't eat meat (chicken, beef, pork), although I do eat raw fish once in a great while (must be wild, never frozen, etc). I eat eggs (cage free) and of course my staple is plant based veggies. Well - my diet has evolved over the years and it will likely continue to evolve towards raw. I spend much time researching holistic food & health - so I'm sure we can have discussions on this for hours.
Otherwise, I like to run - run stairs, trails, etc. Swim, ride my bike to the beach - I also sail quite often, learning how to captain a larger vessal to take around central america. I also like cars - but my pull towards nature has somewhat taken my interest away from cars.
Generally my views are different from the collective. In most situations I am the one eating consciously, thinking outside the box to solve problems and challenging the status quo - not in ignorance though - with deliberate thought, curiousity and likely understanding. I'm not a fan of anything that takes away individualism or freedom - which I feel is most places we turn these days. I'm comfortable with my choices and respected by my peers.
For a living, I am a geek translator. I'm in enterprise technology - but we can leave it at I sell things. Mainly complex solutions around accounting applications, data centers, disaster recovery, cloud computing & blah blah - but it is fun - I have an awesome team I work with and it allows me options to travel and eat the cleanest food I can find.
