I was never much of a meat eater and always a huge animal lover. Becoming vegetarian had crossed my mind growing up, but it wasn't until I read Skinny Bitch on a flight from LA to NY that I decided it was time to actually make a change. I continued to read more about the benefits of veganism and stopped eating and using animal products. I've been vegan for a year and a half and have never felt better. I'm very driven but laid back and am looking for someone who is the same. Some of my favorite things are spending time with my friends and family, food, being outside as much as I can, animals, cooking and baking, reading, college basketball (go heels!), the Yankees, live music and sports, and the beach, to name a few. I am a happy, positive, energetic person who enjoys being outdoors. I am particularly passionate about flowers and gardens, music ( classical, chants and swing), dance, reading (from philosophical to biography and classic literature), and film. I exercise and walk almost everyday, practice meditation and some yoga. I am a warm and affectionate person, gregarious but also appreciate solitude. I love creating gardens and beautifying my surroundings; I would love to build an eco house or restore a very old house with someone. I have been vegetarian 40 years, widowed fourteen years, have grown, vegetarian children. I love traveling but am also content to just be in my own lovely home and gardens. I would be willing to live part of the year in another country. I am a life long learner and enjoy reading both Eastern and Western philosophy and religion.
