I have been a vegetarian my whole life, but I am not an activist. My boys (8 and 9) eat meat and that is their choice and I don't have a problem with it. It is weird that I am a vegetarian, because I am originally from Arkansas. I never liked meat, even as an infant, but was forced to eat it until 7.
I am socially and fiscally conservative, which puts me at odds with most of the ads that I have seen on any veg site.
I do not have pets and have no interest in having any. I really don't get why everyone has to have a pet. Their houses smell bad, and one can't do anything without taking a pet into consideration (whether it is dinner after work or a weekend camping trip). I do have a problem with people consistently crating their pets, it is wrong and not an acceptable training tool.
I have been a software developer for over 19 years and currently work for Dell as a consultant. In the past I have worked for IBM, The Nielsen Company (tv ratings), Aegon Insurance among others. I love what I do for a career!
My hobbies include: sailing, scuba, camping, canoeing/kayaking and guitar. I am open to other hobbies that allows interaction with the person I am with. I have sailed my boat to the Florida Keys on multiple occasions and the Bahamas for a three month trip before.
My kids are very important to me. I am not a passive parent, as I love to interact with my kids. Watching them do something is fun, but participating is better. We play sports, go camping, Busch Gardens, hanging at the beach, ...

My first business required considerable travel including frequent visits to England and Brazil. In my first year I found it necessary to acquire a pilot's license and purchase a plane in order to continue building my business. For over two decades I was fortunate to be able to fly my plane almost every week and to be able to profit from doing so. Subsequent businesses were either marginally profitable or money holes. I finally decided to change a losing game and go sailboat cruising in the Southern Caribbean. I have now gotten that desire out of my system and am quite happy to be a land lubber.

Looking forward to not working for an income, some international travel as well as local, nation-wide, national parks, and eastern Canada by summer.
I work as a nurse for a public school district. I enjoy a healthy life-style of low fat, vegetarian, but will include some fish infrequently. If traveling abroad, may also try the locals food. I won't purchase meat/poultry, but if others want to buy and cook okay. Health-wise...the facts support ridding oneself of high fat dairy, meat and saturated fats. I do like a great glass of red wine occasionally.
I consider myself attractive, average weight, though wouldn't mind to be a few pounds less. Like to hike, walk, bicycle ride on trails. I'm a supportive and caring person and have 3 young and active grandchildren.
