Recently I was told that I was "back on the market", which felt appropriate. Considering the mass production of animal life as commodity, I think I'll take my title light heartedly. I am in the midst of big changes... specifically what I want to do (masters degree?), and where I want to live (somewhere warm?). I've been a vegetarian since the summer of 1995. I remember that I had just graduated from high school and my parents were wondering when this new 'phase' would end... hasn't yet. Actions should be in line with our values/morals... the current of thought that drives us through our journey... conscious conscientiousness. I've come to the point where my partner must also be a veggie/vegan. I am drawn to places with sunshine, warmth, and the ocean nearby. I believe in compassion and being veggie is primarily because of my compassion for animals and secondary for health reasons.I practice some yoga and meditation by which I am never stressed as I know how to tackle it. So, I never loose my temper; the other side of my temperament is that many times I am quiet(peaceful, but not ignoring you). I believe the politics in all religions have messed up the real message. So, instead of blindly following any particular religion, I make a decision on right/wrong by carefully judging its relevance in present times. Over the last several years I've made a lot of changes after long hours of self reflection and much reading. I've taken into account the things I know about my desires and my abilities. I've spent time talking with friends and looking back on the life I've lived. I've meditated. I've read self-help books and listened to recordings. I've changed who I associate with. I've changed how I think about business and money. And most of all, I've changed how I understand what I want. Part of who I am is a person who loves animals and sees the hypocrisy evident in the consumption of meat and other animal products. That part of me is trying hard to integrate with the ways that I already know how to function. I want to be fully vegan, but I struggle with cravings and a lack of knowledge on how to cook such food. So I work toward it by making conscious decisions at every meal.
