I'm not your typical jock. I like taking a thought to it's logical conclusion & then investigating how that should affect my life. Often, I then make changes. If I can't (and that's never due to a lack of self-discipline-- a got heaps!), I make PLANS to make those changes. One of those changes is to start living off of the land... to try to gain some independence from this warped system that is so material & phony money-centered. Im a runner, last year while i was station in south Korea, I was part of the Seoul flyers marathon team, i could not run all the races i wanted to, with my work schedule, but I met a lot of outstanding people and am still in contact with the majority of them. i hope to try out for the armies’ Marathon or ten miller team later in my career. i really love to read. all the classics;(James Fennimore cooper, jack london(favorite), hermin melville, a little shakespeare, robert louis stevenson, tolstoy, twain, jules verne) but i really read anything that catches my imagination. tea cups of tea for instance was amazing. a walk in the woods, into thin air, the heart and the fist, into the wild music, my favorite has to be the john butler trio, but really anything you can really jam to; Bob Dylan, the rolling stones, Ben Harper, Avett bros., Xavier Rudd , jack Johnson, Robert Randolph, dirty heads. I can play a little guitar and banjo. i enjoy runnin , SCUBA diving, swimming, biking, hiking, traveling etc. im pretty outdoorsy.

How can you keep this from becoming a string of descriptions about yourself? I haven’t figured that out yet, so here is my string… I love to laugh and smile and with my silly sense of humor, I do both often! I enjoy watching movies and reading. My Netflix queue is embarrassingly long and filled with foreign films (The Edge of Heaven), sci-fi (Blade Runner is the best!), mysteries, and dark comedies (Secretary, Dexter). I can spend hours at the library and frequently check out more books than I could possibly read in the time period. I would love to get into DC more often and take advantage of all of the wonderful museums. I’ve recently begun Yoga and it is kicking my butt! I’m not a quitter though and I keep telling myself it will get easier. I enjoy the simple things in life and don’t take myself too seriously (goes back to the silly sense of humor). I love watching PBS, HBO ( Bill Maher is my hero) and old blk/wht movies. I have no children but do share my life with my adorable little Yorkie named Dahlia. I am a vegan and I am proud to be an animal rights activist. This is very important to me. In my spare time I love to write (working on my second book), walking on the beach, brousing thru second hand stores, book stores and antique stores. Hi! First things first. I am Indian as in "of the country of India" and not "a Native American". On to more interesting details! I like to run, and even if/when I'm injured, love to cross-train so I can stay in shape. What kind of cross-training? Well, I like (indoor) rowing, biking (indoors and out), swimming, yoga, and Pilates. I'm not really into weightlifting, as in pumping iron, but you should see my traps! I was getting compliments on them before I even know what they were! I became a vegetarian in May 2000 and completed my transition to veganism in January 2001, after interning at PETA. So I have now been vegan for eight years and I love that I'm still evolving and still learning. What I love the most is that being vegan is about so much more than just food- it's about a way of life. I am a creative type and passionate about causes and people that mean the most to me. IE - animals and loved ones. I'm a lawyer by day, but also am a photographer. I like to cook -vegan of course- and am currently enthralled with vegan baking. Nothing like a great vegan chocolate chip cookie. (Melts in your mouth and nobody got hurt). Staying in shape is important to me and I workout regularly. I'd rather drive an old Scout than a BMW any day. On the weekend I can be found creating - whether it's photographs, jewelry, or a new baked cookie. I've even been found with some knitting needles in hand. I know this is a heavy way to introduce oneself--but a major aspect of my life is to try to prevent and alleviate suffering because it feels like there's just so much of it in the world. So I'm trying to do my small part by being vegan and a clinical social worker. I especially feel for kids and animals because they seem the most vulnerable--although it's all important and I do what I can. I'd like to meet other people who also believe its important to think about others and who try to make a difference. Just a simple, honest Southern Gentleman. My path, best described as an Essene Teacher and I love it. I love the country, not the fake gated community type. The real deal. Where you hear bobcats at mating season. You can hear the call of foxes. The hooting of my favorite animal. The smell of horses early in the morning before a long ride makes me giddy! As you can tell, I prefer the real country to the city. I love the beach, but prefer to live near the mountains. Please, I'm not a total barbarian.
