I have always been health conscious (I lean towards a vegetarian diet primarily for its health benefits) and try to work out regularly. I have been working in the tech/biotech area for many years, but am now mostly pursuing graduate studies in Mathematics, which has always been a passion of mine ... though I can appreciate why many people might miss its creative and stimulating side, given the way more familiar math courses are (not so properly) taught! Fortunately, I think I have a pretty broad range of other interests. I am drawn to finance and economics, especially as they relate to development issues. I also enjoy reading and discussing history, politics, world affairs, and interesting travel ideas. On a lighter side, I enjoy watching most sports - particularly college basketball and football, and when I can, a bit of cricket, which I'm still trying to understand better - growing up in the US is a bit of a disadvantage with that one! I'm originally from England, but somehow I let myself be transplanted to the US. While I'm comfortable here, I constantly feel out of place, lost and alone, missing something important yet undefinable. I'm mentally too young for my age and often overly emotional (I cry during movies and TV shows, the sad or happy points.) I tend to start off quiet and self conscious, especially in groups. If I become more relaxed, I may eventually brighten up and get involved, but that first hurdle is often hard and high. These days I find myself thrashing around, often lost in my own thoughts.
